Lion King 1?, The – DivX Version (Normal Quality), iPod/iPhone Version
|
IMDB rating: 6.40 Plot: Imagine a cross between _Lion King, The (1994)_ (qv) and _Back to the Future Part II (1989)_ (qv). This is a separate story thread, that of Timon and Pumbaa, intertwined with the original story. Thus, along with seeing new events (e.g. Timon’s departure from the meerkat colony, Timon and Pumbaa’s first meeting, the origin of “Hakuna Matata”), we get to see a new perspective on (and some previously unseen causes for) some of the events in the original film. Oh, and the whole thing is told in a _”Mystery Science Theater 3000″ (1988)_ (qv) framework, with Timon and Pumbaa narrating and interacting with the “onscreen” movie. |

Im not going to have much to say- but really, my absolute favorite spots ever, is South Street Seaport. I love that place far more than anything. Next comes in Govenors Island, but it might be closed. Anything else you can find famous landmarks to visit in other various guides. Something generally off those guides would be South street seaport.

Since your time is limited I’d recommend to get onto the subway in Times Sq. and take the Shuttle (symbol is the letter "S" surrounded by grey) to Grand Central. (its a very short ride and only 1 stop). That way you can say you rode the subway and got to see the Grand Central. Then, come out of Grand Central and walk back to Times Sq. along 42nd St. This walk too will be rewarding in that you will get to see The New York Public Library and Bryant Park (along with many other things but too many to list).
And Since the above shouldn’t take too long go to Central Park.

Well, you’re not going to be here long enough to do much of anything. But if I were you (and I’m not, so you might disagree) I’d skip the bus tour and go walk around the Village or Soho or the Upper West Side or something during that time. Just pick a nice part of town and walk around and see the City as a New Yorker sees it!
Also, those are awful restaurants to go to! Real tourist traps! You’d be far better to get a Zagat’s guide and think about where you’re going to be and what kind of food you like and find a really well reviewed restaurant that fits your parameters (and your budget!) DON’T go to Planet Hollywood and the Hard Rock Cafe! What a waste! NYC is a food capital! Why not eat somewhere known for food?
